Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
Golmipop is a hydration tracker designed to keep your hydration data on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how that information is handled, including optional tracking used for personalized tips, analytics, and campaign attribution. You can use Golmipop without creating an account.
Data We Do Not Collect
Golmipop does not require an account and does not sell your personal information. Hydration logs, photos, and voice recordings you add in the app stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
Tracking of advertising identifiers is separate from your hydration data. It is optional, described in Tracking, Identifiers, and Third Parties below, and does not happen until you respond to Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Data Stored On Your Device
Golmipop stores the following information locally on your device using device storage. This data is used only to show your progress, history, streaks, achievements, and personalization settings:
- Hydration logs and daily intake history
- Daily goal, unit preference, and focus mode settings
- Reminder preferences and reminder templates
- Theme color, companion character, and other personalization choices
- Unlocked theme colors, companion styles, and coin balance
- Onboarding preferences and display name, if you choose to enter one
- Hydration streak and badge progress
- A profile photo or bottle photo, if you choose to set one
- A short sip pep talk recording, if you choose to record one
This information stays on your device unless you delete the app or remove the related data from your device settings.
Camera and Photos
If you choose to set a profile photo, Golmipop may ask for camera or photo library access so you can take a profile photo, snap your water bottle, or pick an existing picture.
The image is stored locally on your device as your in-app avatar. Golmipop does not upload this photo to a server. You can deny camera or photo access and continue using the rest of the app.
Microphone
If you use Sip pep talk, Golmipop may ask for microphone access so you can record a short hydration reminder in your own voice.
The recording is stored locally on your device for playback inside the app. Golmipop does not upload this audio to a server. You can deny microphone access and continue using the rest of the app.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Golmipop schedules local notifications on your device. Reminder settings are stored locally. Notification permission is requested only when reminders are turned on.
Tracking, Identifiers, and Third Parties
Golmipop uses tracking. Personalized tips are optional. Before any tracking occurs, Golmipop presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. We do not access the device advertising identifier or use it to track you across apps and websites until you allow tracking.
If you allow tracking, Golmipop and its measurement partners may collect the data types below. This data may be linked to your device and used for tracking:
- Device Advertising Identifier (IDFA)
- Device identifiers, including IDFV
- Product interaction data, such as use of reminders, personalized tips, and related in-app actions
- Purchase history for Coin Packs processed by Apple (product, amount, and status; not your payment card details)
These data types are used for the following purposes:
- Product personalization — tailor hydration reminders and tips
- Analytics — understand feature use and campaign performance
- Third-party advertising and attribution — credit the campaign that brought you to Golmipop and measure ad performance
Third parties that may receive this data when tracking is allowed:
- Adjust — attribution and analytics
- Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK) — campaign measurement and analytics
You can decline tracking and still use Golmipop, including hydration logging, reminders, photos, and pep talks. If you decline, we do not use IDFA for cross-app tracking. You can change this later in iOS Settings under Privacy & Tracking.
Motion
Golmipop may use device motion data to animate the water background. Motion data is used in real time for the visual effect and is not stored or sent to a server.
In-App Purchases
Golmipop offers optional one-time consumable Coin Packs through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. Golmipop does not receive or store your payment card details.
When you purchase a Coin Pack, Apple processes the transaction and the App adds the corresponding coins to your local in-app balance. We do not operate our own payment servers and do not receive your Apple ID credentials. If you have allowed tracking, purchase status may also be shared with the measurement partners listed above for analytics and attribution. Payment card details are never shared.
Available Coin Packs may include Ripple Pack (vkm_1042), Splash Pack (bqt_2871), Crest Pack (ydr_3618, $3.99), Promo Burst (kpf_4927, $4.99 promo), Tide Pack (jnf_5630, $6.99), and Deep Pack (wpx_9147). Product names, prices, and coin amounts are shown in the App before purchase.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete your account from Profile. This removes hydration logs, your profile photo, sip pep talk, coins, and settings stored on this device. After deletion you return to the sign-in screen.
Children's Privacy
Golmipop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please also see our Terms of Use for information about in-app purchases and use of the App.
